Enjoy with us a walking tour of the city, walk off the beaten paths to see the impressive site of Sacsayhuaman, talk to locals as you visit colorful markets, enjoy great day hikes as you admire the beauty of the Urubamba Valley exploring little visited sites like Moray a very interesting agricultural experimental center built by the inca as well as Maras where people have been extracting salt for hundreds of years, walk through ancient streets as you explore Ollantaytambo with your guide and Pisaq with its amazing inca city overlooking the Urubamba Valley, explore its traditional produce and handicraft market, learn ancient weaving and pottery techniques with a hands-on demostration all of this staying in quiet and convenient lodging and tasting delicious food prepared by local chefs.The ultimate experience of our program will be the one to reach the magical city of Machupicchu, walking along the last stretch of the famous inca trail for 5-6 hours approximately , for this we take the train from the Urubamba Valley to the 104KM where we start the hike, surrounded by beautiful and very diverse tropical cloud forest passing through the interesting inca complexes of Chachabamba and Wiñayhuayna to finally get our first views of this amazing site from the Sun Gate, walk through this mysterious site as you go on a guided tour, taking the train back to Cusco traveling along the impressive Urubamba Valley and Canyon.This a very good value tour that allows you to see Cusco and Machupicchu in a different way, enjoying the great andes as well as the traditions and cultures of the people of the southern part of Peru.
Our itinerary:
Cusco-Urubamba Valley-Machupicchu
Arrival to Cusco and transfer to hotel.Afternoon walking tour of the city, visiting the Temple of the Sun Koricancha and the Cathedral as well as walking through old parts of town.Walk back to hotel.
Overnight in Cusco.
Breakfast, drive out of town to start our walk to visit the impressive sites of Tambomachay, Pukapukara, Qenqo and the formidable Sacsayhuaman..Picnic Lunch.Afternoon drive back to hotel.Overnight in Cusco (B, Picnic-Lunch)
Today we set off to explore the Urubamba Valley, driving over the impressive rolling Chinchero plateau to the northwestern part of Cusco.Visiting Moray and walking through the salt pans of Maras, you can also enjoy these areas on a mountain bike.Picnic-Lunch.Afternoon visit of fortress of Ollantaytambo.Overnight in the Urubamba Valley (B, Picnic-Lunch)
Breakfast, drive to the inca city of Pisaq walking our way back to its colonial town, visiting its colorful produce and handicraft market and to enjoy a delicious lunch in a local restaurant.Middle afternoon drive back to hotel.Overnight in the Urubamba Valley.(B, L)
Early breakfast, transfer to train station in Ollantaytambo to catch train to KM104, where we start our hike to misterious Machupicchu, steady climb to the gorgeous site of Wiñayhuayna, terrain levels out for the last couple of hours after this point to finally get our first glimpses of this magical city from the Sun Gate.Box Lunch.Arrival to Machupicchu at mid-afternoon.Bus ride to Aguas Calientes town.Overnight in Aguas Calientes (B, Box-Lunch).
It is said that Machupicchu is a place of great spiruality and this happens to be at sunrise, enjoy this fascinating site as you go on a guided tour as well as doing your individual exploration.Lunch.Bus back to Aguas Calientes to catch train back to Cusco.Transfer to hotel on arrival (B , L).
Breakfast, transfer to airport for your flight back to Lima and international connections (B).
